I’m finally done editing “Sir Lanka Files“, yay!!!
Given that I have less than two weeks to go before the book is published on August 15th, I’m relieved.
Sure, there’s still plenty of time, I guess, but I kept getting these emails from Amazon about how I had only so many days to go before the book was published and how if I didn’t upload the final book in time, I would not be able to set up pre-orders for a year. That was stressful π
I like keeping deadlines, I cannot lie. (And no, you shouldn’t feel obliged to get Sir Mix-a-lots “Baby Got Back” stuck in your head at this point π) So I’m glad that the editing is complete, or almost complete. My wife’s doing a pass through the books and when she’s done, it’ll be done, done.
But now, it appears that I have to start work on promoting the book. And that’s a whole story in and of itself since I never knew there was so much to do with promoting books when I wrote my first book 20 years ago. I wrote it, put it up on Amazon and a few other places and forgot all about it.
I’m not going to go the same way this time around. I’m hoping to learn a bit more about what I need to promote the book and I’ll try to share all I learn here so that it helps any other prospective authors.
Stay tuned π
